The Chinese Roombox

The Chinese Roombox debuted at the 2012 Philadelphia Miniaturia and was well received.
The front of this box is painted wood with laser-cut fretwork and plain columns
.
The design is original to Goliath Miniatures, but was adapted from designs from the Szechuan province.
The fretwork is painted red, and there is a flat piece of wood behind it that is painted black.
The Victorian is pictured below, but this construction applies to all styles.
The top of the box is plywood for installation of chandelier.
The front is removeable plexiglass.

The floor of the box is 11" x 16", with a 10" ceiling.

Price = $ 185.00 + SHIPPING
Refund will be made of any additional shipping charges when actual shipping is calculated.

The front of the roombox is a strong sheet of plexiglass -
for protection of the contents as well as maximum viewing.  The front panel slides up by using the wooden handholds on the back - hidden when viewing from the front.

When up or removed, the owner may access the entire roombox for painting, decorating, etc.
OPTIONAL PLEXIGLASS LID - Chinese Roombox - $ 15.00

All roomboxes can have a solidly constructed lid with a plexiglass insert - very strong.  This allows maximum natural light into the room.  You may not have to electrify the room to be able to see all the detail within.
The lid lifts by using the handle at the front - totally hidden when viewing the box from the front.  This will allow you to work on the interior with the least interference.

This picture shows the front plexiglass panel in a raised position so that the handholds are visible from the back.

Note the piano hinge at the back of the box - this allows the lid to rest flat when open all the way - for maximum access.
